A properly sized HVAC system will use less power and keep the humidity down in the home which also helps with comfort and energy consumption. Solar and batteries work much more easily to reach the goal of energy independence with the less power they need to replace from the grid. Any home can be fully backed up, but it often is more economical to do energy efficiency items first and then do the system.
